A Hot Winter Night In Dallas (Fort Baxter) [December 28, 1976]

• a nearly complete (see below) soundboard recording of very good quality (in mono);
• 26 tracks in total, with two of them being incomplete (see below);
• the Closing Vamp is incomplete and it fades out after 56 seconds;
• "Hound Dog" (performed prior to "Unchained Melody") is missing;
• due to a damaged master tape tracks 06 & 07 ("You Gave Me A Mountain" and "Jailhouse Rock") are incomplete and they run for 2 min. 01 sec. and 1 min. 07 sec. respectively, the recording fades out in the middle of the second verse of the former and fades back in during the finale of the latter;
• pretty basic artwork, with a 4-page booklet featuring seven photos taken during the Dallas 1976 concert (most of them black & white), with a reproduction of "a rare Las Vegas Hilton souvenir poster from the December gigs".

At Full Force (Audionics) [December 28, 1976]

• a nearly complete (see below) soundboard recording of very good quality (although inferior when compared to "A Hot Winter Night In Dallas");
• 26 tracks in total, with two of them being incomplete (see above);
• the closing theme is still incomplete;
• "Hound Dog" is still missing;
• the artwork and design are simply stunning; the 20-page full-color booklet features many photographs taken during the Dallas show as well as pictures taken at various other Dallas dates during the '70s and in 1956; the front cover is a tribute to the Fort Baxter release, with the front cover photograph featuring Jerry Scheff and (bits of) Charlie Hodge who were both airbrushed off the Fort Baxter cover; the picture inside the booklet are accompanied by informative liner notes and technical information which...does not explain the audio inferiority of the concert when compared to the show's original release.

General comments:

• Elvis sings very well and is in a very good mood and his new girlfriend, Ginger Alden, is in the audience;
• unlike the Birmingham concert the day after, the Dallas show does not include any rarely performed songs, but it does introduce the listener to the second ever (and the first soundboard quality) rendition of "Unchained Melody";
• "Early Morning Rain" is (again) a complete performance of the song;
• the concert was also released on "Showtime!" (FTD).

Running Time Differences:

• the silence following the faded out Closing Vamp goes for additional 2 sec. on "At Full Force" hence the slight difference in the running time of the two discs.
